About the company

Stockholms Norra Omnibusbolag (Stockholms Northern Omnibus Company) was formed on the 1st of April 1853. It began a route between Kungsbacken on Norrmalm and Slussplan in Gamla Stan with 2 horse drawn carriages and a fare of 12 skilling riksgälds. The company had an influential and wealthy board led by the treasurer Albert Theodor Starck. To begin with carriages left every half hour . But with company expansion by 1867 a carriage left Nytorget and Skeppsbron in Gamla Stan every quarter hour from 8:00am to 10:00pm costing 12 öre per person.
