The banknote 20 Maloti  dated 2010 , presents   couple standing in door of hut on back

The 20 Maloti  dated 2013 , the couple is not present


Why the couple it was cancelled ??

I have just asked the Head of Currency at the Central Bank of Lesotho. She replied:

"Yes indeed there was a couple standing on the doorway in our previous M20.00 banknotes, However that caused a lot of public row and controversy,  during a reprint a decision was made to remove the couple and leave all the  other features".
