Sharing my another Lahore Rupee

Akbar Lahore Mint KM # 93.11 -  Illahi 44 - 10.76 Gms - 21.7 MM - Farwardin (1) Aries

There is no test mark on this coin, but there is wear from 1 O'clock to 7 O'clock on the first side. May be this is the reason of silver loss.

Is this something unusual to have the weight of a Mughal Silver Rupee, less than 11 Gm?

Indeed, a very nice coin, I suspect with almost complete legend. I find the wear insignificant.

There are other examples of light weight rupees on this site, but indeed, most are 11 grams plus. It is possible that the light coins were buried for centuries and suffered from copper leeching. Since the rupees are good quality silver, a difference of 10% or so would not be abnormal.

An unidentified coin is a piece of metal. An identified coin is a piece of history.
