Hi Guys
Is there any book which details all of Aurangzeb ere coins

asm

For this era, there were many kingdoms besides the Mughals. So except for a general catalogue like KM.
In fact, even for Aurangzeb Mughal coins, I do not know of any specialist catalogue as there are for some other rulers.

Arthur Needham and Tariq Ansari have announced that they have started work on the third book on the coinage of Aurangzeb. Almost a hundred mints, 50 years and the book covering all metals - Gold, Silver and copper will ensure that the book will be at least 2 volumes...

Thanks Amit, what are the first 2 books on.
The first one is on the silver rupees coins of Shah Alam Bahadur and includes the coins of Azam Shah & Kam Baksh. The second one is on the coins of Jahandar Shah. This one includes the Gold and copper coins of this ruler along with the silver coins. Both are fantastic works.

Thanks Amit, any idea when will this book come out

asm

It is still at a very initial stage and will take time. Looking to my previous experiences with the authors and the publisher, I'd say 2 years would be the minimum.........

Nothing yet. Still in the works. However, the patriarch of the publishing company, who was himself very interested in publishing books on coins, died recently. One of the authors, Tariq (our member) has moved up the ladder in his office and has tons of work while the second author, our ex-member Arthur, has been having sight problems.

In place of waiting for the book then the best place to see all the known mints etc is on zeno, see This page and scroll down below the coins to see a huge list of all the mints that you can click to view the coins from
Vic

Yes, thanks, I have a couple of thousand coins uploaded there.  It's a great resource.

I actually had a web page listing out all the Mughal mints for the most common rulers that you could run your eye down quickly rather than click between all the zeno categories, but apparently its not available any more.  I must look for a new home for it.
