Shortly: The First Complete Coin Listing

With Salvetes scans we will shortly post a complete entry for two coins. The coins are from Ajmer and cover the two main inscriptions.

They include.

1. Size
2. Weight
3. Transliteration of inscriptions.
4. Introduce RY date.
5. Introduce Ahad as a dating reference.
6. Introduce Ah date
7. One coin shows 'extraneous' markings.

So we will have coins by ruler, mint, Ry date, Ah date, size, weight and a sub section on extraneous marks. They will be a reference to Krause numbers.

After this has been posted and discussed the next coin will be a date not listed in Krause.

Rome wasn't built in a day, Arthur.  For that matter, neither were any of the Delhis!  This list will soon build into a usable resource for students, and then the process will get a bit quicker, I think.

Ultimately, our coins are only comprehensible against the background of their historical context.
