I have been looking through the krause and after 2 hours I have identified 4 or 5.  So I could use a little help with what is left.
If anyone could simply point me to the right country I will find the denomination.  If we eliminate several... any that are left i can rescan and do both sides too.
#3 looks russian but I have not found it.
#5 looks eqyption to me but haven't found it yet either.
#16 I have seen that lion before but forget where.

1. Saudi-Arabia
2. Tunisia
3. Ukraine
4. West African States
5. Turkey (Ottoman)
6. Pakistan
7. Syria (probably)
8. Taiwan (Republic of China)
9. Yemen
10.(Muscat? and) Oman
11.Morocco
12.Nepal
13.Afghanistan?? not certain
14.Algeria
15.Syria?? not certain
16.Ethiopia

I am not certain of 13 and 15 without seeing the other side. Without seeing the other side 10. is Oman. Oman is listed in Krause as Muscat and Oman until 1970 and as Oman from that year on.

The date on this coin is 1972, the Arabic is the second date to the right, which reads 1392 (AH).

Sudan 5 Milliemes 1972. Here's another one! http://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces11542.html

Correct, Dale. The key to Hebrew numbering is in the intro of the Israel chapter in KM. On some older coins, the 5 (millennium) is omitted.

An unidentified coin is a piece of metal. An identified coin is a piece of history.

Prosit

I noticed that in the KM after I did considerable research on the numbering system.  Oh well, it wasn't wasted effort, it made them more familiar to me at least.

Oesho is correct about this one - it's 1976-1396 (the Arabic 2 and 6 are more-or-less mirror images of each other).
