Hoping to identiy this ae 21 mm I bought it thinking it was a Pontos, Mithradates VI coin, but the reverse does not match. they never seem to have vertical writing, reverse seems to say something like asiae and a name.   anybody ?

I believe it is a coin of Seleucus II, see http://www.wildwinds.com/coins/greece/seleucia/seleukos_II/Houghton_673.jpg, but yours is on a much wider flan.
