Islamic tiny coin: Amirs of Sind, Ahmad
« on: April 16, 2021, 10:54:02 PM »
Hello...

I bought this from a seller in India...  he claims it to be "Amirs of Sindh"... and based on that I found:

this:  https://www.zeno.ru/showphoto.php?photo=207482
and this:  https://www.zeno.ru/showphoto.php?photo=232041

The writings do not exactly match so I need your help in reading it... the size and weight is about the same as my coin.

size:  10-11.5mm  ||  weight:  0.7g  ||  Metal:  AR/Silver

Thank you in advance for your help...  =))

Thank you Alan so much... your find on Zeno is exactly (text-wise) like my coin... and specs are also about the same...
We may now consider it solved...  (That was fast lol...)  =))

There is not much information about the Amirs of Sindh on the internet.  However, I found this map (file attached) of the World from around 820AD...
Also, if someone is interested - I found this discussion on Worldofcoins.eu:  http://www.worldofcoins.eu/forum/index.php?topic=26660.0

That's a valuable contribution, with that fascinating world map, for once not centred on the 'Western world' - AND the thread about Sindh coinage you cited.
I took out my single Sindh coin and put it in another thread.
