Mamluk, al-Ashraf Nasir el-Din Shaban II, fals, probably Cairo, 764-778 H, Balog 437-448. Sorry, I'm not sure of the date.

Thank you Alan... I looked at the Balog 437-448...  and I see a Trident near the center of my coin within the text... the text shown in the Balog does not have one...  is that a variation, or does it have a meaning...?!?!
(I have seen a similar symbol on Ottoman coins...(just similar texts I guess))  ?!?!

Thanks to Alan, I was able to find this on Zeno: https://www.zeno.ru/showphoto.php?photo=221203 and this https://www.zeno.ru/showphoto.php?photo=163902

the Zeno's sample has the Trident just like my coin... and my coin is somehow lighter in weight than the Zeno's samples...
I still would like to know what is written on these coins... =))

Coin collecting has a curious name. It is also called the "Hobby of Kings".

Thanks for Maythem for working his usual miracle, and sorting out the date for both of us!

The 'trident' is actually just how the word 'sultan' (the final N crossing the T I believe) has been written, and not a symbol.

Thank Alan; you are right about the word " al-Sultan السلطان " written with letters " Lam (L ل) & Noon (N ن) " crossing each other which is common in Arabic calligraphy.
