Manipur, AE Sel, Chandra Kirti 2nd reign "Sri" (uniface)
« on: March 06, 2021, 11:11:55 PM »
Another unidentified coin found in a mixed lot of Indian coins. First impression is that it may be a Manipur sel? Does the weight and character make sense?

0.56 grams, ~10.5 mm

Thanks for help identifying!

Yes, I would say that the weight, diameter, uniface nature, and inscription look like a Manipur coin. Here are some for comparison

Thank you very much for the positive identification, Seeker55!

Tentatively attributed as:
Manipur, Charda Kirti 2nd reign (1851-1886)
AE Sel, (1873?)

Attribution is tentative because the "Sri" is not perfectly clear. Else, attribution would be more certain. Thank you.
