The one character that is clear looks Mongolian, rather than Chinese. Not a coin. Perhaps a charm?

Very strange global appearance. I have never seen a so-called "coin with a square hole" looking like this and I would not give 20 cents for it! I hope I am wrong...

The character could perhaps be archaic chinese but the "coin" is not.

It looks to have some serious corrosion.  Might be a modern fake but I doubt it.

It has some hallmarks of Indonesian cash "imitations".

Do you know where it came from?
