UK three pence 1925 - fake or trial?

Here is a curiosity, a 1925 version of a coin that wasn't issued until 1927, the UK acorn threepence. Could it be a trial? Or is it a fake?

Thank you - you found that very quickly. Apparently the pattern is made of nickel, whereas, when issued in 1927, the coin was 50% silver.

I didn't check my Davies but there were a few similar patterns in that era to test the alloy changes.
Nice coin anyway.
