tŷ hafan

tŷ hafan is a Welsh institution for all-round care for children not expected to live to adulthood and for their parents. The design on top is the logo of the hospice providers. According to recent French research, palliative care is best in hospices, who easily better home and hospital care.

This is undoubtedly a fund raising medal for donors. Its size, 22.5 mm., is the same as that of the now withdrawn round pounds. Its thickness is reminiscent of the coins also, but its weight is 8.5 grams, while the coins were 9.5 grams and the metal and its colour are of course different.

An unidentified coin is a piece of metal. An identified coin is a piece of history.
