square silver coin, Afghan
« on: October 22, 2019, 09:54:33 PM »
This odd coin is square and thick but with some sort of corner trimming or beveling or chamfering, whatever the word might be. 21.1mm, 11.43g. Date shows as AH 1304, which seems improbable and perhaps messed up. Any idea what it is? From a collection obtained in Afghanistan, if that helps.

It is a 'ramatanka/ temple token' based on an Akbar square rupee, the 13 is a pseudo regnal year I assume, see my example below.
