Excellent idea. I have done this when I had an opportunity (not so often. It is far more difficult than you think, if only because the artist often show the building or statue from an impossible angle or blithely leave out interfering items. His method of showing note and subject in the same photo creates another problem: you cannot get both sharp. He chooses to have the note sharp and the subject in the distance, to compensate for being unsharp. I prefer to have item and note on different pictures.
