Overdate - a technique where the mint engraver superimposes one or more numbers over the date numbers of an earlier year's die and may be the resulting coins show traces of the old number.

Scarce overdate 5 Sho.
On die date 16-22, the last digit "2" was engraved at "3".

By the way, the overdate should be included in the WoC dictionary.
