UK round pound series, 1994-7: competition entries
« on: May 07, 2017, 12:19:06 PM »
More flowers from Leslie Durbin. His floral set won the competition for the 1984-7 series. Couldn't he have thought of something different?

UK round pound, 1996.

Norman Sillman eventually won the competition. Here are two early versions of his winning Northern Ireland design.

An interesting theme from Mary Milner Dickens. However, Triton is more appropriate for a Mediterranean country.

See also her bird designs:

1992 UK pound bird designs rejected by Chancellor of the Exchequer

The bird designs would have won the competition, if the Chancellor Norman Lamont had not vetoed them.
