The Royal Mint gave the Bermuda Monetary Authority three design options.

These were based on the BMA's instructions.

Excellent! Here is a clear example of how less clutter makes a better coin design and a happier client. The choice of place for the date looks natural also and the commemorative text is a good complement of the design (I would have preferred 50 years commercial air travel in Bermuda.) The occasion is appropriate in view of Bermuda's isolation. Moreover, I like the moment chosen: passengers boarding from tiny rowed boats, contrasting nicely with the big flying machine and its heavy engines.

The design reminds me I never had a chance to board a seaplane. Too late now, I guess...
