Happy New Year! Some of the coins from the previous sticky topic (http://www.worldofcoins.eu/forum/index.php/topic,33950.0.html ) were released during 2016 and that's why this new topic was created. Unreleased coin subjects have been carried over to this new post. Would you mind posting your ideas, suggestions or information for 2017 commemorative coins releases here?

Of the 18+ themes listed, in my view, we are on track only for 3-4 issues from the ones listed. There will be different themes once we progress through the year.

The starting point of my proposal was President Putin's new year message to Indian President and PM (it can be read here, scroll down a bit):

Mr Putin thanked the Indian side for its hospitality when hosting the BRICS Summit in Goa and expressed hope that the 70th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between Russia and India will be marked in 2017 with new success in enhancing productive bilateral cooperation in many areas, in particular, in resolving urgent issues on the regional and global agenda.

The 70th anniversary between India and Russia did get discussed in detail in October when the Russian President was in India. Interesting..Since a joint issue of stamp has been proposed, I'm putting my money on coin too. Russia issues hundreds (if not less) of commemorative coins (circulation as well as collector) every year and it won't mind issuing one with this theme. Let's see.

75 years of quit India movement.In 1992, GOI  issued golden jubilee coin on this topic. I think its time for Platinum Jubilee.
