Even back then, collectors knew they were going to have something similar for the 125th anniversary (which didn't happen).

The new series of circulating coins to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the Canadian Confederation is the series that will be put into circulation this year, but there will also be minted 75,000 pieces of each denomination with the old designs (dated 2017) that will only be issued in sets.
