Dear Friends

Addressing a function to commemorate 300th anniversary of martyrdom of Sikh general Baba Banda Singh, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said a high-level national committee will be formed that would chalk out an elaborate plan for the celebrations of 350th Anniversary of Guru Gobind Singh.

"Government of India will be celebrating 350th birth anniversary of Guru Gobind Singh in every corner of the country. It will be celebrated everywhere across the world where Indians reside.

"For this, the government of India has earmarked an amount of Rs 100 crore. A high-level committee is being formed to look into organisation of the events," Modi said.

The Punjab government will also contribute a matching amount for the event.Guru Gobind Singh, the tenth and last Sikh Guru was born on 22 December, 1666.

"Commemoration of the historical events will connect future generations with our roots. Those who forget history can never create history. Only those can create history who are connected with the historical roots.

"So, if we celebrate 300th, 350th or a centenary, all these events connect us with the great and historical traditions," he said.

There is a possibility that GOI may issue coins of Rs 350 on 350th Birth Anniversary of Guru Gobind Singh Ji

Guru Gobind Singh was the tenth Sikh Guru. He founded Sikh Khalsa, and introduced the five Ks (Kripan, Kanghi, Kada, Kesh and  Kachh)

He passed the final Guruship to the eleventh Guru, Guru Granth Saheb Ji

A ₹365 coin to commemorate the income tax form :-\

The denomination is superfluous. This is a commemorative medal only.

An unidentified coin is a piece of metal. An identified coin is a piece of history.

Whenever commemorative coins are issued, at least one denomination is issued for circulation. Higher denominations are issued for coin collectors.

I am hearing that in case of Guru Gobind Singh, only high denomination Rs 350 coin may be released. The plans for Rs 10 coins may have been dropped. If this is correct, this design could become rare.

Lets wait and watch

Perhaps a minority appeasement exercise.
Last time a 10 Rupees Gur ta Gaddi coin was issued and it does not appear in the list of 14 designs of bimetallic 10 Rupees which are legal tender, as per RBI release.

The Gur-ta-gaddi was never released as circulation coin. It was only available as mint sets.

The commemorative coins on Guru Govind Singh ji may be released before the end of this month. Possibly on 28 March or 29 March

So far there does not appear to be any gazette notification, which is a step mandatorily required as approval of design and denominations.
