Elichpur falus?
« on: August 26, 2015, 08:29:55 PM »
Are these Akbar damra or Adil Shahi falus? These are copper coins of 18-19 grams and irregular shape somewhat rectangular. Can anyone please tell? Thanks in advance. - UL

Can the weight be provided? It would narrow down the possibilities. The lower one looks Elichpur.

Thanks Amit. The first coin is 18.2 grams and the second one is 19.3 grams.

But I have checked Elichpur under Hyderabad Feudatory in KM. They did not match. May be they are the double weight coins of Mughal period from Elichpur mint. -- UL

Both are likely Elichpur issues, with the second one most likely from the reign of Shah Alam I but since dates as well as the full name of the rulers being off, I am just hazarding a guess.
