Does the mint name allude to Sikar in Rajasthan?

Obverse Falus Sikar

Probably not Sikar, but Sukkar in present Pakistan near Bhakkar.
See Andrew Liddle: Coinage of Akbar, type C-55.

Thanks Oesho. Liddle's book is added to my list of books I need to get.

The denomination, according to Liddle's book, is 1/2 Dam (reported mass=6.5 g). He reports only one date, Ilahi 42.

It appears the mint is pretty rare.  :)

Yes, definitely not a coin which you come across very often.

Another one, dated Ilahi 46. A mini meteor seems to have crashed into this one.  :(

Meteorites, bah. With the edge so clear, you have another piece of the design. Your graphical analysis from almost 2 years ago has born out.

An unidentified coin is a piece of metal. An identified coin is a piece of history.

Very interesting and scarce coins !
But I see no reason to class this coin as a "half dam" (A.Liddle) with a weight of 6,5 or 6,6g ? no dam of Akbar weighs 13g ....that should be better a 1/3 dam ?

The square shape and the weight are close to Malwa copper issues of Akbar which are said to have been struck according to a "Gujarat" standard and not as "half dams"  ???
