My coin - just the opposite - only square area visible, but quite thick.

In those days, the main emphasis was on the weight - around 11.20 - 11.50 grams. Size hardly mattered.

The holder tells me that I purchased this coins for RS. 250 only. :) :) :) :)

But I note that my coin has a date - AH 1067/RY 31, in spit of small flan size. But the coin of Mitresh does not show any date. Any clarifications for this??

These are 2 different varieties, the rupee of Mitresh ( :perfect:) is one without AH date and only the ry (5 over "b" of "sahib"(qiran).. on right side); your coin dear Abhay is a variety with both dates (even with a shorter flan  :) )

Hi Saro, trust you are keeping well and fine.

Abhay - you have a better coin becoz (a) you obtained it for a very cheap price (b) your coin shows both dates.

Very often these rupees from Patna don't show AH date because it is off flan, but here, the rupee of Mitresh which gives the full die is clearly a variety without the AH date (Brown n° 2050)
I join pictures of a very similar one but with AH date over "'Ali" & Ry 6
