This coin too, form its fabric, appears to be a issue of the Sultans of Gujarat. Please confirm and help attribute.

This looks like a coin of Shams al-Din Muzaffar Shah II (AH 917–932; 1511–1526 AD). If the mass is around 11.5  grams, it could be a Falus (G296).

Overlord,
It is heavier. Weight is 14. 24 g and dia 17mm. A 1.1/2 Falus perhaps?

It seems to be G302, a one and a half falus.
Reported dates?  926, 928 to 930 AH.
For a reign of only 14 years, in terms of variety, Shams al-Din Muzaffar II minted LOTS of coins!

I am confused. I had put up this coin for help in identification on Zeno before I put it up here as there was no help from Zeno. In the last two days, the coin has been identified as being that of Shams al-Din Muzaffar III AH 968. Please help.

The more I look at the two coins,
G302 of Shams al-din Muzaffar II and
G616 of Shams al-Din Muzaffar III,
the more I am in agreement with Zeno.
Shams Al-Din Muzaffar III saw his kingdom fall apart.  His opportunities were limited.  He was boxed in.  Perhaps that is why he used a well defined square on the reverse of many of his coppers, but probably not.  ::)  Muzaffar II used squares too, but not on G302.  G616 shows evidence of this. Because of the coins weight and appearance, G616 seems appropriate. There is but one date observed for that coin; AH 968.
In all fairness to Richie, I can see why he called it wrong.  The legends on both sides of the coins are similar (identical?). The weights are the same.  The Sultan's name is the same.
Before I change the subject heading, let us allow some time for others to weigh in on this.

I fully agree with the attribution given by sdbridges3 on ZENO. G&G G616. The date, to the right side of the coin, is off the flan on the present coin.

In general, which specific characteristics help us in distinguishing between undated coppers of Muzaffar II and III having the same inscription?

This, in fact was my question earlier? How do you diffrenciate between rullers with the same name and from the same dynasty?
