Poland: New "Historic Coins" Series 2013

The idea of putting coins on coins is not new (see some examples here), not even for the country that this topic is about. :)  Poland has issued various collector coins that feature famous designs from the 1920s/30s. Now the central bank (NBP) goes further back in history - to the very first Polish coin.

This is a Bolesław Chrobry (Boleslaw the Brave) denar issued about 1,000 years ago - on a coin issued a few days ago. An image from the NBP site is attached; more info and larger images here:
