Islamic Temple Token / Simply Token ...???

Good evening / day...!!!

For your review is an Islamic Token / Coin of some sort... couldn't find it on Numista...!

Metrology:  9.2g  ||  28mm  ||  Bronze / Copper

Please, help me read what it says and maybe we can ID it... Thank you...!  =))

This is one of the very standard Indian islamic 'ramatankas' or religious medallions. There are many minor variations in style but the basic details are the same on most.

The obverse has the kalima in the centre and the names of the first four 'rightly guided' caliphs round the edges, whilst below the mosque on the other side is (I believe) 'Medina the noble'.  The exact transcriptions and translations were kindly given by Maythem in post 5 of this thread http://www.worldofcoins.eu/forum/index.php/topic,50322.msg318220.html#msg318220

These are sometimes said to be souvenirs of the hajj, but they might just be religious amulets (I'd like to see a definitive explanation of their use myself.)
