Muhammad Shah, Rupee with deep chop mark
« on: November 13, 2012, 04:45:42 PM »
This Rupee has a really deep chop mark, definitely not the usual moneyers shroff mark. I wonder if maybe it's to cancel the coin for some reason?

It's weight is o.k at 11.01g & I don't doubt that it's  made of silver,  the date is off apart from 11 but RY is 9 which is AH 1139
I think it's Gwalior mint ?

Yes, it does seem to match with the mint name on this one.

I think it is Gwalior for sure, does it then belong under Princely states ?
