It is a rarish coin from memory.

I bought it as "unknown coin, RARE"

How they know an unknown coin is rare is a bit beyond me, but for once just perhaps they were right.

Southern Netherlands, 1/20th Philipsdaalder 1594, struck in the Doornik/Tournai mint, VG-H 215, Vanhoudt I 319.

obv: Simplified crowned Spanish Habsburg arms (Austria, Burgundy, Burgundy, Brabant - heart shield Flanders) in chain and insigna of the golden fleece (Burgundy) PHilippvS.Dei Gratia:HISPaniorvm   Z.REX:Dvx.TORnacvm - Philip by the grace of god king of Spain etcetera duke of Tournai.
rev: Decorated cross, flower in centre, topped by a tower (mintmark, tower in French is Tour, a reference to the name Tournai) between date DOMINVS.MIHI.ADIVTOR - I have made god my helper, the personal motto of Philip II.
