Jahangir's Rupee 1620 CE.

This is my first Mughal acquisition. Help in attributing mint.

It's a rupee of Lahore mint, the mintname is at top of the right scan./ 1029 AH / yr.15

Same type of coin at Zeno

What i understand this is of "Ruy couplet" type!

But what exactly "Ruy couplet" is ???

Nice specimen Ansari without shroff marks .


Could you give me an idea how much you paid for it , looking for Jahangir's coin in near future  .

Thank you, paid 1600 Rs, but things have changed a lot during the period now you will have to pay atleast 2500 Rs for any couplet coin of Jahangir. Good luck for your chase :)
