it came to me with attribution to Akbar, Lahore Mint but couldn't find on Zeno or Numista

You are right with Lahore mint (dar al-sultanat)  but you did not search well on Zeno..

Dear Amit Kher, I have a correction regarding the date..
Your coin is dated 986 and not 982 as said, refering to the Zeno dam #124719, which itself is not dated 982 but 985 AH (x85 in digits at bottom)!!
This type of dam indeed gives the date both in persian letters and at bottom, in digits, but most often this lower part is off.
On yours, the last digit "6 /۶ " is well legible and associated with "nuhsad wa hashtad" (900 & 80), that gives the full date 986 AH.
I possess a dam of this type which well shows "fi tarrikh x80"(980)
