Countries have their own national coats of arms or national emblems. Occasionally, they change them slightly. I do not refer here to those times when they adopt a totally new emblem or coat of arms.

Here I will specifically also exclude national symbols, for example Britannia or the German eagle that have appeared on coins in numerous versions. I am only interested here in the lesser or greater coat of arms or emblem.

Not that it matters much :) but the eagle is indeed (part of) Germany's CoA. Also, it has to come in the national colors (black, red, "gold") when shown in color. But there is not "the" one depiction, certainly not for coins. So it makes sense to leave the eagle out here.

Rwanda's former CoA is interesting as its colors (and that of the old flag) were red, yellow and green. Heraldically that should be vertical | | | stripes, lots of dots ;) and diagonal \ \ \ stripes. But the coins you show do not match. Hmmm.

Interesting that you knew that. Africancoins pointed it out in my Rwanda topic. Heraldry is not actually my thing, but I enjoy noticing variations.

Thank you, Mr. Condor, but could you make that drape a little tidier next time? Fewer folds, perhaps?

A tidier drape now. Thank you, Mr. Condor. You are very well-trained!

Next time, hold your head a little higher. Don't be so shy!

Yes, that looks better, Mr. Condor. Head held high!

Next time, maybe you could turn your head the other way?

Head turned a different way now, but it took a long time. This is possibly the grandson of the original Mr. Condor?

The condor is rather sleepy, this time, I think.
