The following is taken from 'A KING'S STORY - The Memoirs of H.R.H. The Duke of Windsor K.G.'.

Publication detals: First published in Great Britain 1951. This edition published by the Reprint Society Ltd. by arrangement with Messrs. Cassell and Co. Ltd. 1953.

As this was written by the only person qualified to write on the subject, I think that we can take it as being the official story.
