Title: SouthTirol
Post by: Figleaf on October 15, 2007, 10:25:00 PM
Next month, I will be going to Bolzano in Alto Adige, now in Italy, but long a part of Austria and known as Bozen in S?d Tyrol. Most of the Italians living there speak German as their first language. No idea of what the chances are for numismatic shopping, but I can always try if anyone is interested...

obv: Third Austrian vinicultural congress & agricultural exposition
rev: for (in recognition of) merit

Indeed, it's an agricultural area, producing some very nice wines. This will be a good trip ;D

I hope you enjoyed the trip.  When I was there I found a stamp dealer but saw no coins.  My best acquistion coin-wise was when we stayed at a hotel in Austria where the Hotelier was a collector - he let me have an interesting range of Austrian coins in the dying days of the Schilling (September/October 2000)
