Title: Akbar Dam Dogaon AH99?
Post by: TTerrier on May 11, 2020, 03:33:41 AM
Here is the second Dogaon dam that I think is an Allahu Akbar type but I am not sure - looking for some help with this one please!

It seems very clear the date is AH99X, but the last digit is confusing me.  I think the letters outlined in green are Allahu with Akbar off flan with the final date digit to the right in purple.  It doesn't really look like si to me but that might be due to the distortions of the lettering as they approach the edge of the flan.  It actually looks closer to a yek ("1") to me but I read that this type of reverse legend is not known in Dogaon prior to AH993.

Once I sort this out I will post a complete overlay of both sides of the coin.

Thanks for your help!
