Post by: jaspersaini on May 26, 2018, 01:12:58 AM
Sharing another Mughal coin from my collection, this one moved out from my other post.

Jahangir - Lahore Rupee AH 1036/RY22 - Liddle S-108

1. 11.44 Gm. x 21.3 MM
2. 11.29 Gm. x 22    MM
3. 11.29 Gm. x 22.2 MM

Second and third coin are almost identical, with the same weight.

Update - I got a twin brother of my above coin.

Excellent coin, jaspersaini. Deep strike, little visible wear, few shroff marks. Your photography brings it out quite well. I like the floral background decoration. The remind me of the colourful flowers on the lower wall tiles of Taj Mahal.

My year started with this Lahore mint Rupee, from the Jahangir reign. AH, year is clear, compared to the first coin. Maybe the engraver was a different one this time.
