Title: Jahangir, 4 Tanki, Pre-accession coinage
Post by: Saikat on October 16, 2017, 01:44:21 PM
Hi,
Jahangir in his Princely name as Salim. Ahmadabad, AE 4 tanki (15.46), Ilahi year (50 of Akbar , 1st year of Jahangir),
month: Isfandarmuz.
The coin is pretty worn, but still clear enough to read the legend;
Obv.: "chow tanki /shah salim"
Rev.: "isfandarmuz ilahi / ahmadabad 50"
15.73 gm
Thanks,
Saikat

Very nice Saikat coin itself is of important emperor of Mughal empire who was famous for his love for art , culture and admired for his rule of law and lastly blind affection for Nurjahan.
Your overlay makes the coin lively.
Cheers ;D

Another piece of history, saved by your reconstruction of its details, in your collection.
