Title: Akbar damra, Ahmedabad mint. Unique!!
Post by: abhinumis on January 19, 2016, 07:07:11 AM
Hi all,
Here is a coin likely to be unique! The coin weighs 5.1gms
Obverse- falus dotted line
Reverse- aban dotted line
Such a coin was minted only at Ahmedabad mint during Akbar's reign. Although the dam is pretty common. The fractions are very rare. I recall seeing a half dam once  but never a quarter dam or damra.. No such coin is elicited in literature and museum catalogues..
enjoy!!
