This coin has the "Sad Zewar" couplet:

Ze Hukam Shah Jahangir Yaft Sad Zewar
Ba Naame Noor Jahan Badshah Begum Zar


By Order of Shah Jahangir Gained a Hunderd Beauties
Gold By Name of Noor Jahan Badshah Begum

Interesting coin  , although image shows calligraphy not fully visible  but excellent illustration give another life to this coin.

Another thing this delightful reconstruction makes clear. The shroff marks are all between the letters, leaving them intact.

This is an observation on almost all coins. I have seldom seen coins which have the legend damaged when the shroff drilled the coin for removing metal for testing purity. It is, of course a very different story when it come to counter-marking the shroffs' stamps on the coins during the time of the later Mughals..........

Really admire the way you deciphered the inscription!  You make it look easy.
Is this coin, bearing the name of Noor Jahan, rare?  My guess would be that this is a hard to obtain coin.

I have noted that, in general, Jahangir and Noor Jahan coins are very much worn out, as compared to mughal coins of other rulers.

Any explanation for this??
