This coin is said to be an issue of the pre-Mughal period. G&G remarks that it could be one of the period of the Mughal interregnum between the two reigns of Baz Bahadur.

The overlay is of great help. Thank you. With Plant in hand, I can get there. Isn't there a gap between Talaq on the coin and Tariq in the description? BTW, I know what Rajgor and G&G is, but what does M refer to?

An unidentified coin is a piece of metal. An identified coin is a piece of history.

Thank you Peter for the post. It is not "talaq". It is "al ta" on the right side, making part of "al tariq". "ri" is not seen, probably could be the short part inside the "W"like trough formed by lam and teh with the long limb to make it "taa". "Al" "ta" "q" can be seen on the coin with a presumed "ri" In any case "talaq" is entirely out of question.Ha..ha...ha... ;D

And M261 is the coin ID in the G&G (last part of the Malwa section)
