Tonga 5 and 10  seniti  2018.jpg

Tonga, 5 and 10 seniti, 2018.

In 2019 Tonga issued new 2018-dated 5 and 10 seniti coins.

The numerals indicating the denomination had proved too small.

Elderly Tongans had had difficulty reading them.

The Royal Australian Mint therefore changed the position of the numerals.

It also made them larger, so that they were more prominent.

The pictorial elements of the designs were made somewhat smaller.

However, the size and weight of the two coins remain unchanged.
