« on: October 16, 2016, 04:16:27 PM »
Copper - weight 9.8grams

Is this a Copper tangka of Shams al din Husain Shah with date 884AH? Can anyone guide me to read the legends as i am not so confident about reading..
Requesting seniors to help. I do have only a very few sultanate coins as this is not my area of collection and so has  very little knowledge about these coins. So asking for help..

The names of the rulers on obverse are somewhat like this - Husain shah bin Mahmud shah bin Ibrahim shah sultani. That confirms this an issue of Husain. Reverse legend is about " Khilafat amir al mumanin khuldat khilafat". I think the date should be read as 885.AH.

These coins give the name of the previous rulers and use the word 'bin' which means 'son of' so Hussain Shah is the son of Mahmud shah who is the son of Ibrahim Shah
