Shah Jahan, Silver Rupee, Surat, AH 1037 RY 1, Raij on top (Rev), KM 221.1



Coins of this type from Surat, for some reason, always come with a large RY 1 instead of Ahd.

Also, this coin type, for some reason, almost always seem to bear a prominent test mark on Obv that mercifully has been been spared on this one.

Yet another most amazing coin. Surat was probably one of the largest, busiest mints of the empire. Yet, look at that!
