John Deyell has uploaded a paper on Academia entitled 'The development of Akbar's currency system and monetary integration of the conquered kingdoms,

I note that he says no copper dams were issued but clearly there were  ???

The paper dates from 1987. Discoveries were made in the intervening three decades. It's still a very interesting read. Too bad, but quite understandable that Deyell stuck strictly to numismatics. I can see links to economic history that would have enhanced the interest of this paper further.

That's odd ,I had an email today saying it was just uploaded to Academia, I couldn't find the date the paper was written only a ref to another publication dated 1987

This dam (1/2 tanka) of Kabul is listed in the 2013 Indian Edition of "South Asian Coins"  under ref. KM.32.35 / Ilahi Era 44
according to the note : "weight varies : 19,9 - 20,7g" , so we can think that, at least, 2 coins dated Ilahi 44 exist...

And as usual KM's valuation is completely wrong, even allowing for price rises in 5 years
