In 1954, Vereniging voor Voorbereidend Universitair Onderwijs op Gereformeerde Grondslag, the Society for preparatory academic education with a protestant basis, started preparation for a new school in a new, post-war part of Amsterdam: Buitenveldert. The school opened in 1963. The building is nominated to be listed as protected. Nevertheless, two new wings were added in 2009. At present, the school is known as CSB (Christelijke Scholengemeenschap Buitenveldert) and part of a wider partnership, known as Ceder. This change probably took place in 1968. CSB has switched its original Protestant character for a secular, humanistic approach.
