CROSSHOUSE CO-OPERATIVE ASSOCIATION 1863-1971

The society was started in 1863 and had a close association with Kilmarnock Equitable from the beginning, holding joint soirees from 1863. By 1867 it had branches in Kilmaurs, Springside and Gatehead. At this time it's customers were mainly from the mining community. In 1971 the society joined Kilmarnock Equitable.
