Crosshill Omnibus Co.

Archibald Blair started an omnibus service between Glasgow and Crosshill in March 1870 and eventually included a Cathcart service. Archibald Blair died and his omnibus plant/equipment was auctioned in May 1875.

The Crosshill horses, plant etc were purchased by the Crosshill Omnibus Company for £2500 with the business being carried out under the management of Mer William Blair, Archibald's brother. The Cathcart horses, plant etc were purchased by Andrew Campbell, tacksman of Canniesburn Toll, for £1905.

The Crosshill Omnibus Company faced strong competition from the Glasgow Tramway and Omnibus Company, with the drivers racing each other on the route. In February 1877 there was an auction of the Crosshill Omnibus Company horses and equipment.
