CHAPELHALL CO-OPERATIVE SOCIETY 1872-1968
The society was formed in 1872
The main store was known as Chapelhall Central with the branches being numbered[1]. The branches were;
- Branch No. 1 - Airdrie
- Branch No. 2 - Holytown
- Branch No. 3 - Mossend Road
- Branch No. 4 - Airdrie Terminus
When the society took over the Plains store in 1931 this became Branch No. 5 [2]
The society joined the SCRS in 1968.

In part due to mergers, in 1955 the society members were Chapelhall, Clarkston, Greengairs, Newarthill and Uddingston[4]. Newarthill joined the SCWS in 1967 and Chapelhall joined the SCRS in 1968.
The society went into voloutary liquidation in 1968.
