There are three die varieties of the Aberdeen Corporation Transport pre-decimal tokens obverse.
Type 1 - As Tramway Type 3, Arms close to legend, left leopard ear to second E, right leopard tail points to T
Type 2 - Smaller arms, similar leopards, shield 4.4mm wide, left leopard tail points to R, scroll cruder with dot above P only
Type 3 - Smaller arms, thinner small headed leopards, shield 4.1mm wide, left leopard tail points down, scroll cruder with dot above A and P
The Type 1 tokens are the Type 3 Tramway tokens with department name changed to TRANSPORT. Like the tramway tokens they are made from celluloid.
The Type 2 token and Type 3 tokens are of later issue and are made with a more modern plastic and injection moulded. Both obverses were used with the decimal issue ACT tokens.
