Between 1917 and 1940, this fresh-faced virgin appeared on the reverse of Portugal's 4, 5, 10 and 20 centavos coins, and no text, legend or numerals were allowed to sully her purity.

If you ignore the motto (which is part of the coat of arms) and the designer's initials, most - but not all - of Rhodesia's coins of the 1970s fit the bill.

Zhang Zuolin 50 dollars does not appear to be circulation coin.
There are some nations who habitually issue ( or used to issue ) circulation coins without any text and numerals on one side. They are Bangladesh, Malaysia, Belgium, Egypt, Israel etc.
